Images Artist Made Paper Gallery
Materials: Artist made kozo paper, petioles from the Tree of Heaven and sometimes, driftwood.
Process: Petioles, (the part of the tree that holds the leaf), are gathered in the fall from the Tree of Heaven. Wrapped and secured to a form, they are left to dry for several months. Artist made kozo paper is then wet-cast onto the form on and around the petioles. When the paper is dry, the structure is removed from the form resulting in a free standing sculpture.
